The Division of Visual Arts and the Texas Atomic Iron Commission invite you to the 2021 Iron Pour beginning at noon, Thursday, Nov. 4, in the sculpture yard behind TWU’s Visual Arts Building. The Atomic Iron Commission will ignite the cupola, a furnace made for melting iron, signifying the beginning of the two-hour event of pouring molten iron into sand molds created by art students enrolled in the sculpture class.

A panel discussion with commission members, including TWU Visual Arts faculty member Tanya Synar, will begin at 3 p.m. in room 101 of the Visual Arts Building. Panelists will present their story on how they approach cast iron with their sculpture.
