The Texas Woman’s University Center for Student Leadership has a new name: the Center for Research and Student Leadership.
The center was created more than a decade ago to address a nationally recognized need for college-level leadership training. It is a program of TWU’s Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership (JNIWL), which is dedicated to preparing women to take on successful roles in business and public service to ensure women have the education to establish careers as successful C-suite executives, the skills for building entrepreneurial businesses and the framework needed to run for public office.
In a letter to friends of the JNIWL, Mary Anne Alhadeff, executive director and chief officer of the institute, wrote that the center's new name “more clearly reflects the work that the JNIWL does to generate research and create a repository for studies focused on women in leadership in Texas and across the nation.
“Though our name has changed,” she continued, “our mission of cultivating exceptional leaders who live and lead with integrity, accountability and excellence has not. We will continue our work in providing a transformative experience for TWU students who wish to receive creative and responsive leadership preparation.”
