Three-time alumna Dawn S. Chaney has created major endowments that support undergraduate and graduate scholarships for students in the School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology and the TWU Athletics Hall of Fame.

Additionally, and most recently, she gave a $1 million gift to support facility needs at the new Health Sciences Center. Now, in a fitting tribute, Texas Woman’s has named a communal space in  honor of Chaney, who earned TWU degrees in 1963, 1966 and 1970.

On Oct. 21, the university officially dedicated a space in the HSC now known as the Dr. Dawn S. Chaney West Commons. Chaney, who owns a real estate investment company in Greensboro, N.C., was on hand to experience the unveiling of the new space.
