On Saturday, Sept. 21, alumni from around the country, university administration, community members and softball fans came together to celebrate the dedication of the Dianne Baker Softball Field. A generous donation by alumna Dianne Baker led to a renovation of the current field, including a new sound system and a large screen digital, video capable scoreboard. Future enhancements will include new reserved seating, all seating will be covered, and a new press box. After a celebration including a flash mob dance by hundreds of Coach Baker’s players, a two-game scrimmage was held between the TWU Pioneers and UT Tyler.

The endowment established by Dianne Baker creates a legacy that will serve to maintain the softball field in future years giving student softball players and the softball program at TWU a high-quality facility to enhance their game.
