The TWU Dallas Leadership Luncheon presenting the Virginia Chandler Dykes Leadership Award will be held at noon, Thursday, April 29. This year’s recipient, Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall, will be honored during the event, which has gone virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sponsorships and tickets are available to purchase online until April 23.
Marshall is the first Black female CEO of an NBA franchise. She has been a dynamic force for inclusion and diversity within the Mavericks organization and throughout her 36-year career at AT&T. When she was hired as the new CEO of the Mavs in March 2018, Marshall set her sights on a culture transformation. Her vision was for the Mavericks organization to become the NBA standard for workplace culture. She brought transparency, trust, and her values-based leadership style that drastically reshaped the company culture in her first 100 days. Her professional work and community involvement make her a role model for TWU students.
For the 19th year, this TWU signature event in the Dallas area honors one of Dallas’ most accomplished citizens, heightening the visibility of the university, and raising funds for graduate student scholarships. Texas Woman's is committed to educating the next generation of leaders, and sponsorships and tickets help to raise much-needed funds for graduate students. Scholarships are key to helping the university attract the best and brightest graduate students from across the state and nation. Donations for the scholarship can be made online.
