Alumna establishes scholarship for students in natural sciences

TWU alumna and medical director of MD Anderson’s Cancer Prevention Center (CPC), Dr. Therese Bartholomew Bevers, ’81 oversees a comprehensive clinical program offering cancer screening and personalized risk reduction services.

Bevers earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from TWU and reflects fondly on her academic foundation and student experience. Driven by a passion for providing similar opportunities she established the Therese Bartholomew Bevers, M.D. Scholarship Endowment in Natural Sciences, a scholarship supporting TWU students pursuing a degree in the natural sciences aiming to empower students to achieve their dreams. The gift included a naming opportunity in the Science Research Commons (SRC) on the Denton campus. The Therese Bartholomew Bevers, M.D. Chemistry Research Lab is located on the first floor of the SRC, which opened in 2021.
