Scholarship created in honor of Wittmis

The Texas Woman's University Office of Financial Aid lost a dear colleague and friend when Julie Wittmis, financial aid advisor, passed away from cancer June 1, 2021. Julie was a valued member of their team for the last 12 years.

She worked in many different industries before finding her true passion here at TWU. She was an advocate for students and a friend to many across campus.

In honor of Julie’s work and her love for education, office colleagues came together to create an annual scholarship in her memory. The Julie List Wittmis Annual Scholarship will help to provide another source of funding for the students she devoted her work to help. The scholarship will be available for award in fall 2021 to any full-time degree seeking student in any field who has demonstrated financial need.

As a financial aid advisor, Julie took pride in her work and strived to help students find the aid they needed so they could attend college and reach their dreams of achieving their degree. This scholarship will help to carry on her legacy and continue to assist students in need. Additional donations are welcome and gifts can be made to the Julie List Wittmis Annual Scholarship online at twu.edu/giving or by check and mailed to the TWU Foundation, PO Box 425618, Denton, TX 76204-5618.
