Tired of traversing the traffic and ever-present construction on Interstate 35 between Denton and Dallas? The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) could have the answer!
The DCTA is set to roll out a new University Pass Program effective Aug. 1. What’s new, you ask? Only everything — the fare structure, pricing, and sales process.
Most notable for faculty and staff, it will be more affordable, as faculty and staff will pay the same fare as students. A fall or spring semester pass will cost $120 for the local system and $240 for regional. (Summer semester passes will cost less.) Or you could choose a 12-month pass for $240 local or $576 regional. Visit the DCTA website for what’s available via a local or regional pass.
Faculty and staff may use their TWU ID to meet the agency’s verification requirement to purchase a pass. Purchases may be made via DCTA’s online store, through TWU’s Pioneer Portal (sign in, then look for “DCTA Ticket Purchase” under “Other Resources,” or in person at the Downtown Denton Transit Center, 604 E. Hickory St. Remember: Prices go into effect on Aug. 1.
