TWU's Core Assessment Academy will soon begin rating student artifacts from Spring 2019, and you’re invited to join!
The State of Texas requires regular assessments of the core curriculum — the set of required classes from which undergraduates must choose, outside their majors and minors. Texas Woman’s uses volunteer raters — full-time faculty, staff, administrators, grad students, and some alumni and members of the community — to get this done.
This year’s assessments focus on the core objectives of communications and critical thinking, which were last covered three years ago. This year’s data will provide figures to determine how much students have improved in these areas.
Sessions will be held June 3-20 on the Denton campus. Each rating session runs three hours. You may sign up for as many (or as few) sessions as you’re willing and able to attend. Lunches will be available for each day of rating.
Complete the sign-up form to register. For more information, contact Gray Scott, associate professor of English and assistant director of Academic Assessment, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 81-2327.
