'Boldly Served' to honor pioneer women, WASPs

The CARE and Blagg-Huey Library staff will host Boldly Served, an event honoring pioneer women and Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs), Tuesday, May 21, in the library on the Denton campus. A screening of the film “Silver Wings, Flying Dreams” is scheduled 10-11 a.m. in Library 101. Afterward, attendees are invited to tour the library’s Special Collections, located on the second floor. The collection will be open throughout the day.

The Boldly Served program will begin at noon on the library’s second floor. Jeannie Rickey (admissions processing) will provide remarks, followed by keynote speaker Kate Landdeck (history), a contributing producer to the Emmy-nominated film. The event will end with a rose ceremony.
