TWU VPN has been upgraded

The university’s virtual private network (VPN) has undergone some changes. Here’s what that means to users (PC, Mac, iOS or Android):

  • New AnyConnect Client — You will need to upgrade the client used to connect to TWU VPN.
  • If you do not currently use the Cisco AnyConnect client to connect to VPN, you will need to download the client. You will need to log in with your TWU credentials to access the download links. Follow these steps to install and launch the AnyConnect Client.
  • If you currently use Cisco AnyConnect, no action is needed. Once you log in to TWU VPN, your client will update automatically.

This upgrade prepares TWU for a new security feature coming in Fall 2018 — Duo Security dual authentication. Duo Security is a two-factor authentication service that easily allows users to protect their VPN sign-on experience by providing a second layer of protection when accessing VPN — authorizing their login via a trusted device (phone, tablet, etc.). Additional information will be provided in the coming weeks.
