• Susan Mellott (nursing) spoke on Evidence-Based Practice Use, Attitudes, Knowledge, and Skills: Curriculum Design and the Perceptions of Nursing Students at the Sigma Theta Tau International's Leadership Connection Sept. 17 in Indianapolis.
  • Led by nursing faculty members Vi Ho and Rochelle Schultz, several TWU nursing students participated in the Lien Hoa Temple health fair and clinic event Saturday, Sept. 8. The students gave 130 flu shots, measured BP on more than 50 people, scanned more than 40 people for  BMI, visceral fat, antioxidant levels, and provided HTN, diabetes and nutritional education for the crowd. The students also shared educational posters and coordinated educational games for the children at the event.  
  • Orchestrated by Dewaynna Horn (business), the Wise Women and Wealth event, held Sept. 15 on the Houston campus, was a success with almost 100 students, alumni and others participating in the learning event. In addition to the College of Business, the Center for Women in Business and the Health and Wellbeing program took part in the event.
  • She Said, She Led, She Is will hold a one-day women’s event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct 6 on the Houston campus. The conference will focus on building sustainable businesses and breaking business barriers. Registration is open to the public with discounted rates for TWU students.
